Logitech G930 Wireless Gaming Headset Review

Logitech G930 Wireless Headset
The Logitech G930 Wireless Headset is possibly the best headset I have ever owned. It boasts features such as 7.1 surround sound, wireless connectivity, Logitech G-Keys, a bendable microphone and voice morphing software, all in one sleek package. For only $110 on Amazon, it surely beats the more expensive headset brands in bang-for-buck ratio.

First Impressions
I found the headset really easy to set up, although it did take me a while in order to realize that I needed to install its software in order to use functions such as G-Keys and surround sound. What I first noticed after I put them on was the noise-isolation. Not being used to noise-isolation, it took me a while to do so. The ear cups are very comfortable, as well as the entire headset itself, although it is a bit heavier than other headsets. However, if you wear glasses like me, you will find it slightly uncomfortable since the ear cups press against your head.

Sound
The 7.1 surround sound was the main feature that made this headset stand out to me. The headset has a switch on the back of one of its ear cups that enables this feature. However, note that you must install Logitech’s Gaming Headset Software in order for this to work. Also, it feels that the bass in this headset is not too particularly powerful.

Wireless Connectivity
Logitech wasn’t lying when it stated that this headset has a wireless range of 40 feet or more. With this headset on, I can walk from my computer at one end of the house to almost the other side of my house with no loss of sound quality.

Battery
The battery in this headset has a 10 hour charge, and the headset can still be used when charging it.

Additional Features
The G930 Headset also has a folding microphone that automatically mutes itself when you push it to an upright position. You can also mute the microphone by hitting the mute button on the side. The microphone can also be bended back and forth. The headset also features 3 G-Keys, which are basically buttons that you can map keys or launch applications from.  For volume control, there is a roller on the left ear cup. The Logitech Gaming Headset Software also has a voice morphing feature powered by Screaming Bee. The software also includes a surround sound mixer and equalizer.

Problems
Sometimes, all the features on the headset will stop working, including the on/off button. This is not really noticeable, as sound will still be playing through the headset. This only seems to happen when charging it after it has run completely out of battery. An easy fix is to reset the headset by putting the end of a paper clip in the reset hole.

Final Verdict
The Logitech G930 Wireless Headset is an amazing product that I highly recommend you buy. With all its main selling features like wireless connectivity and surround sound and also its nice additional features like a bendable microphone and many helpful indicators, this headset is a golden example of Logitech’s dedication to its customers. You can get it for $109.99 compared to the regular 159.99 on Amazon.
